Girl about the House- Week 10 & 11

Hello and welcome to another Girl About the House blog post!

(AKA days 63 to 76, 25th May - June 7th)

For the past two weeks, the weather has been beautiful which has brought many hours of reading outside under the sunshine, BBQ's and good feeling. The soundtrack to these weeks has been mostly made up of 00's songs which I have very much enjoyed. On top of this, I've felt much more productive in the evenings which has lead me to start up my own Etsy shop, selling handmade headbands! See below for details...

Currently I'm...

READING...The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in the garden, under the sunshine.

WATCHING...
Films: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay part one, Mockingjay Part 2.

Other: Man About the House, Watch Me Wednesday (Carrie Hope Fletchers Videos), Gogglebox (+Celebrity), Good Morning/ Evening World Youtube videos, Modern Family, Graham Norton, Heathers UK musical.

CREATING...Scrunchies!- I learnt to make these for the first time and since then I've made loads as Birthday gifts for my nieces. Painting a metal flower cage for the garden, sewing headbands.

LISTENING TO...Adele, Elton John, Addams Family Musical songs, Battlefield by Jordan Sparks, Impossible and T-Shirt by Shontelle.

COOL STUFF...
- Photoshoots for eBay
- Up close and personal Robins (the birds like to see how close they can get before you notice them).
- Thought I saw someone famous from Harry potter on my walk but didn't.
- Clap for the NHS with neighbours every Thursday at 8pm
- Family Zoom Quizzes
- Posted a book (Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher) to a friend.
- Made 2 eBay sales
- Setting up my own Etsy shop! Currently, I'm selling handmade headbands to help with ear protection whilst wearing face masks. They have a vintage floral print with a stylish twist in the fabric at the front. Check them out here.

- Sorting old family photos into albums- one of the tasks I've been wanting to get to for a while.
- My niece teaching me Tik Toks via facetime.
- For my nieces birthday, the family face-timed all together to sing her happy birthday as she blew out the candles on her cake.
- Photoshoot of a jumpsuit I've made...

Walks...5

Weather...Mostly hot and sunny with little rain.

News & Updates...
- Fewer deaths reported in the UK
- Unessential shops are due to be open on the 15th of June as long as the Coronavirus infection rate stays low. With these safety procedures: staff wearing protective equipment, one way walking systems, not allowed to try on clothes, customers aren't allowed to touch items as you normally would. For example, in Waterstones, it's said that if a book is touched it's then put in a separate room at the back for 78 hours.
- On the 29th of May Boris Johnston released a statement: We can now meet up to 6 people outside of our household in a garden. We can walk through the house to the garden but are not ok to stay in the house. If using the loo you must clean everywhere. Dentists to be reopened soon.
- Some children back at school on the 1st of June. Classes are limited to 15 children so more rooms are being used, which is why not all school children are back.
- The last clap for the NHS took place on the 4th of June at 8pm.
- It's said that from the 8th of June everyone using public transport has to wear a face mask.

It's the little things that provide Happiness...
- Washing fabric
- Ice cream in the sun
- Something I miss: face to face conversations with like-minded friends; The people who understand what you're saying or make sence of the muddle of an explanation that you've tried to get out.
- Homemade Brownie/Cookie/Cake. Basically a cake with chocolate and crunchie bits.
- Sitting outside in the sun reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes for hours. Love this story!
- Weird dancing to great songs
- Late afternoon family BBQ's
- Sewing on a machine
- Old photographs!

----------------------------------------------
As always thank you for reading!

Keep well and seek out the little things,
Love Buddy xx
