Sunshine, July and Daily Tangents #22 Strawberry Milkshake
Hello and welcome to the beginning of another Sunshine, July and Daily Tangents blog post. Today is the 22nd of July which means I am on the 22nd prompt on my list: Strawberry Milkshake.
I am currently sat up at the table with my PJs on and paint up my arms. I had a lovely time doing fluid painting this evening. It was a spontaneous activity that started because I wanted to use up my paint from the other day's fluid paint session (Here). Waste not want not. Besides, the leftover colour was beautiful and detailed after I had to scoop paint back into the cup when it fell to the floor. I thought it was a very beautiful addition to the grey garden concrete. #Livingwithanartist
I will update you on how this fluid painting went after it's dry. I decided to paint the other side of the transparent wallets from a couple days ago and I actually realised that I preferred the inside of them. I achieved that galaxy style ghostly wind of colour against a dark background. Pictures soon.
So today's prompt is Strawberry Milkshake and I decided to make ice cream adorned with sweets, chocolate, sprinkles, waffles and of course Strawberries! My thinking was that I like to wait until the ice cream has melted enough to drink anyway so why not segway off the theme slightly?
Included in my ice cream creations were: fudge brownie bites, Vanilla Ice cream, marshmallows, Party Rings, Gummy Sweets, Flying Saucer sour sweets, raspberry flavoured foam mushrooms, Strawberries, Waffles, a chocolate sauce topping that hardened as it touched the ice cream, squirty cream and sprinkles.
I served them in little wine glasses as they felt like the perfect portion size. The response was very positive with all-round good feedback. I mean...it's kind of a dream to have all of these yummy things in one dessert but getting it made for you probably adds to the ideal set up.
Here are the photos, extra-large so you can soak them up and taste it through sight as much as you like...
...absolutely glorious and so so yummy! #colourcrushcreative
Just to make sure that a milkshake is featured, here is a painting of mine from when I was about 15 years old. I'm gonna toot my own horn here, I was very impressed with 15-year-old me when I found this painting. It was inspired by an artist called Wayne Thiebaud who paints the most beautiful paintings of sweet treats and food items. I was looking through old work of mine from my school days when I saw this featured on the corner of a larger piece of artwork. It's so funny because I thought that I got better at painting, and developed a love for it, years after school but seeing this, it must have been in me the whole time. And now I sit here with paint up my arms because I love it so much! How things change, develop and expand.
As ever, thank you very much for reading. I will see you tomorrow with day 23: Age.
Love,
Buddy xx
