Girl about the House: Here we go again! *Sung to the tune of Mamma Mia
Hello and welcome to another girl about the house blog post!
It's been a while since I've last provided an update on life for me and since then a lot has changed for the UK. We were well and truly over a hill, over a peak of the germ and normal life had been making a reappearance. I wasn't sure if this was the only hill but I was certain that some things had settled.
I saw family members in the flesh. I left the house and ventured further afield than local walks. I even got used to going into non-essential shops, wearing a face mask. A kind of normality had slowly crept back and it's not until I read earlier posts that I remember how intense it all felt at the beginning. I'm confident that now it feels different. Still a bit scary but we're more prepared this time around: we know the tune and what to expect.
Now that we find ourselves back in lockdown, I thought I'd return to the weekly diaries. Mostly for the memories and so I can keep track of positives, however small.
Without further ado, here's what I've been up to during my first week of lockdown take 2.
Thursday 5th November - Sunday 15th November
Currently, I'm...
READING...The Shelf by Helly Acton.
WATCHING...
Films: High School Musical 1, Father of the Bride, Identity Thief, Booksmart (watched twice in one day- absolutely love it!), 13 Going on 30, Fool's Gold, My Super Ex-girlfriend, Life of the Party.
Other: That's So Raven, Meghan Trainor studio behind the scenes clips, Strictly Come Dancing, Gogglebox, Modern Family, Graham Norton, Movie interviews, Friends, McFly: All About Us documentary.
LISTENING TO...Mostly Meghan Trainor.
I think it says a lot about an artist if you're still listening to their album each day after 3 weeks of having it. I was the same with Meghan Trainor's album Title a few months ago and now I love Treat Myself even more. Before this summer I would've said that I liked 1 or 2 of her songs but now I'm a fully converted Meghan Trainor fan.
COOL STUFF...
- Zoom cooking lesson. We learnt to make apple pie, Christmas cakes and homemade mincemeat.
- eBay photoshoots. I've decided to try and pick this up again.
- I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here is returning!
- Giovanna Fletcher is announced to be one of the contestants of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2020. Giovanna is one of my favourite authors and I am very excited to watch her in the jungle castle this year. I'm also very excited to see how different the show's going to be this year in Wales instead of Australia.
CREATING...Illustrations, bunting, writing blog posts, reel's for Instagram, sewing face coverings, Christmas painting: Jazzy Jumpers!, a felt Christmas garland.
I've been working on a commissioned illustration, which will be a Christmas present. Truthfully I haven't drawn in ages but it's nice to have a reason to.
