Sunshine, July and Daily Tangents #2 Lime

Hello and welcome to day two of Sunshine, July and Daily Tangents.

Today I've had a day of popping not mine but somebody else balloons. This sounds very rude but read my last post here to understand what I mean. I tidied and organised an entire working space for somebody else and it made them feel good which makes me feel good. Time worthwhile. My feet do ache, though, from all that walking but the exercise was what I wanted so no moaning here.

I'm currently sat in my pyjamas at 7 minutes to 9 in the evening, having just eaten mango and ice cream whilst watching Jurassic World. It has been a boiling hot day and to see me right now you wouldn't believe it. I'm decked out in fluffy socks, trouser PJs and a blanket around my shoulders. It was hot during the day and I was thankful for the brief air conditioning on the train.

Back to the topic at hand. Today's word is Lime.

Initially, when I placed this fruit at number 2 I hadn't let myself think of too many things for the want of spontaneity on July 2nd. Little did I know that I would have a spontaneously busy day in which a Lime didn't feature...
What I would like to devote this post too (still under the umbrella of Lime), however, dabbles the subject of youth or age. Bear with me...

When I think of Lime my mind wanders to a drinking game. Is there a game which involves lime and you lick salt or something? No idea. The reason I have no idea is because drinking and clubbing is not really my thing. Example a) it's 9 pm and I'm in my pyjamas, makeup off, kind of-almost-nearly ready for bed.

To further distance myself from my youth, I turned to Tumblr in order to develop ideas for today's topic when I stumbled across a whole new communication system. Has anyone heard of the Citrus scale? Apparently, it's something that was around a few years ago and used mostly on Tumblr, I believe. The scale is used to rate the romance in Fan Fiction. If you were to rate a piece of writing Specifically on Tumblr you would comment either Citrus, Orange, Lime, Lemon or Grapefruit. Citrus meaning PG; a kiss on the cheek. It then develops in intensity and Grapefruit would be an x-rated moment in Fan Fiction.
That was the most innocent way I could explain the Citrus Scale. Tumblr doesn't hold back!
In case you were wondering, Lime on this scale equals heavy romantic scenes.

Swiftly moving on. Another recollection of the word Lime is in Friends when Monica is sick and she says to chandler: "We're two healthy people in the prime of Lime".
If you've seen this episode I have no doubt that you read that quote in her voice.
What Monica Means to say but mispronounces in her bid to hide her poorly state is that she is in the Prime of life. Meaning the healthiest and most productive stage of her life. I feel as though you can only recognise the 'prime of Lime' in your own life after you've had it. For me, I reckon I will look back and think yeah that was it. I kind of did this on Saturday when I was with my niece in the sweltering heat and found that she had more energy than I did. Also in the same weekend, I sneezed and hurt my back! And my niece introduced me to a gaming website that featured a plethora of games but no interior design spaces or fashion designing which is what I used to play as a child.

I know I'm not old but when you swap chairs with your niece who makes sure to give you your comfy back pillow back to you, it's a little tricky to see that the prime of lime is ahead of you!

As ever, thank you very much for reading day 2 of Blog Every day in July and I will return tomorrow with day 3: Moped.

Love,
Buddy Summer xx
