Land Girls & Fluid Painting/ Blogmas Day Four
December 4th- Fun
Today I was able to sit in my pj's and watch a film- Love that I'm able to call this research; as long as I took notes!
The film was called Land Girls, It's about the Women's land army during World War II. For my current project, I'm looking into the Blitz Spirit of the second world war.
For those of you that don't know, the woman's land army occurred in World War II, started in World War I. Women volunteered to work on farms in replacement of the men that travelled away to fight in the War. The women that volunteered would have no idea who they would be working with and most often had no experience working on farms. How scary to be taken somewhere you've never been, to muck in with people who you don't know and work tirelessly on tasks you've never done before with the pressure of doing your very best in a time when you are well aware of others doing a better job than you; e.g the women carried out "man Jobs". On top of all of that, they would be away from their families and loved ones during the most terrifying time of there life. From 1941 onwards, it was compulsory for women to volunteer.
The Women's Land Army were brilliant human beings.
If anyone has any nuggets of information about the Blitz Spirit, please feel free to share. Either by commenting below (I realise this way may have issues) or on my Instagram page (I'm more likely to see it there).
The topic for #ZoellaPhotoaDay is fun. One of my favourite things to do is create. I tend to love techniques that have a quick result; excluding the drying process. Even though I find that I'm joyfully obsessed with every artistic technique, the above fluid painting incorporates two of my loves: paint and colour. This particular painting was used on my latest final piece and so reminds me of a project I adored. I really pour my heart into each project.
Here's to continuing my obsession with each and every project forever more.
Thank you for reading and happy December 4th!
