Cinnamon Hot Chocolate / Blogmas Day Six

December 6th- ZoellaPhotoaDay: hot drink

I had intended for this Blogmas to be a tutorial on how to make a Hot Chocolate. And not even how to make one but rather telling you what I did.
I'd planned to make the most perfect Hot Chocolate for the ZoellaPhotoaDay challenge. It was going to be sprinkled with specs of cinnamon that fell into place and gathered in areas to create a festive shape; basically unrecognisable as a Hot Chocolate made at home but bought at a Christmas market.

I came to realise that that was not going to happen........

It was going well, I was happy with the photos excluding the shadows. I liked the squirty-cream aesthetic with the cinnamon on top- albeit slightly too much (got a bit excited)- and then I added a marshmallow and quite frankly this was the start of it going to pot.
I added more marshmallows and the cream started to sink. I then applied more cream and more miniature marshmallows and found that the cinnamon appeared scarce.

In the end, I succumbed to the fact that my hot chocolate was not going to be Costa Coffee perfect; I was not going to be approached by the coffeehouse to make dazzling hot drinks.  I got comfy underneath my Disney blanket and settled in front of the TV and at the very end, it was a delicious, nay sugary, Hot Chocolate.

I feel as though, as individuals, we strive for the best; or maybe just the perfectionists. If it wasn't clear to me before that I'm a perfectionist, it certainly is now.
We have an aim for what something should look/be like and keep going until what we envision is the reality. Today I settled for a great taste and a hand warmer, it wasn't perfect visually (as immaculate as Pret) but did its job.

Thank you for reading and merry December 6th!

Love Buddy Summer xx

Ps: the jelly babies, I thought would be too much sugar in one cup so ended up being an additonal snack.
