Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again/ Review & Tangent

(Spoilers below, I urge you to see the film first and then come back and read my post)

There is something about this feel-good film that makes me feel good.

Right now, precisely 14 minutes after watching Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I feel incredibly uplifted. I want to see it again and again!

I had waited a whole year (since hearing word) to see the prequel sequel of one of my favourite films in the world. This evening I did and I was not disappointed. Truth be told I knew from the first few minutes that I loved the film- Why wouldn't I? The sunshine, the bright colours, the signature blue. The smiles on the faces of the actors, uh wonderful.

My brain could not stop focusing on Miss Lily James's (playing young Donna) outfits. I was inspired/motivated whilst sat in my seat to recreate some of those bright and chilled outfits of hers. One that I can't get out of my head?- the floor length skirt that revealed trousers on the inside upon a cartwheel. The Skouser? The Trirt? The trouser-skirt was bright orange and seemed to be attached by the side seams of the trousers; Imagine a princess bowing to a Queen and lifting her skirt sideways as one does, the skirt creates a wide flare. This is how the Scouser appeared in that scene.
Oh, and the long skirts often paired with crop tops then later seen with a cool mullet style waist jacket with long sleeves.
And the high waisted shorts. Ahh, the costumes were simply glorious.

There were a couple of hairstyles in there too I would like to try.

The story- beautiful. There was a moment I thought I would cry and then a moment a small, very tiny tear came out. Most of all I smiled a lot. The good feelings were shared in the room and lots of laughter had.
I felt like singing along and clapping after each song, however, I managed to suppress both of these urges and resort to foot-tapping and head swaying instead.
Admittedly, I didn't know all of the songs, but that certainly does not mean I enjoyed it any less; more that these are the songs I will be learning and dancing around too. I will no doubt be singing all day tomorrow!

There were some incredible singing voices in the film. My favourite being Amanda Seyfried (Sophie) and Lily James (Young Donna). Amanda's tones are just so lovely.
Lily, this was the first time I had heard her sing and I was delightfully surprised. She was wonderful in the part of Donna.

I was glad to see that most of the cast returned, with the addition of the actors depicting the well-known character's younger years.

To me, as well as being a happy go-to film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again gives the viewer the blessing to look at the future in the most positive and joyous light. The film exudes optimism and fresh beginnings. Highly recommended.

I will definitely be wearing a long skirt tomorrow- as long as I find a top to go with it!

Thanks for reading, Enjoy Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again! x

Oh and favourite young Sam, Bill and Harry? Young Bill Anderson all the way!
