Festive Flat Lay/ Blogmas Day Two
2nd December- Festive Flat Lay
Thanks to my ability to press the wrong button repeatedly, I found that I could switch positive and negative in the photo. It turns out that I like the result way better than the photo I'd been trying to get (above). I'm going to post a video on my Instagram stories of this as I thought it was a really cool effect; something I was excited about, not so much my family.
Let me clue you in on what I've included:
-My Christmas jumper: Very warm and soft with little holly leaves dotted around. I had actually forgotten how soft this jumper is until today!
-Pyjama trousers: I plan on wearing PJ's on Christmas day- no matter leaving the house or not.
-You're The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher: the book I'm currently reading at the moment. Honestly, I haven't found a book that I've looked forward to reading for a while. I find myself wanting to know what the characters are getting up to, which I tend to find myself thinking when reading books by Giovanna. You know when you find an author you like when you so happen to enjoy immensely each of their books.
For me, the author comes separately to their writing; sometimes you can like the person and sometimes you can like the writing. In this case, I really like both.
-My snowman mug: I was given this mug as a Christmas present a few years ago. It came with marshmallows and hot chocolate powder. I loved this gift and now every time I see it I'm reminded of that person and their sweet gift.
Finally..
My fluffy sock, poking in the corner: I adore fluffy socks, I wear a pair every day.
The photo of today took me about an hour to finish. This included: thinking of things to lay on the floor, resulting in a beautiful array of festive objects, then arranging the objects- no shadow and a good amount of space between all and finally taking the photo- who knew how much you think about the positioning of each and every object in accordance with each other? I'd like to say that I simple scattered them all, took one photo and was finished. But, does anyone do it like this?
A goal of mine is too not obsess too much over a photo. In all honesty, there are things that I would change and tweak in this picture. Take a breath, think of the grand spectrum of life and put things in perspective (maybe not literally, it's not that dramatic).
Merry December 2nd and thank you for reading!
Love Buddy Summer xx
