*All The Books I Read In 2018* Part One / Books

......In order of accomplishment

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins-
The second half and for the second time. This trilogy is one of my absolute favourite stories. This series and Harry Potter are so brilliant that I actually feel concerned that I will never find a better story or one that's on equal par.

The Tiny Wife by Andrew Kaufman-
Recommended by Carrie Hope Fletcher. I find that when a book is recommended, positive feeling surrounds it and then I feel excited/encouraged to give it a go. It may be surprising for you, the reader, to know that I love books but I'm not a fan of standing in a bookshop and reading the blurb after blurb. Don't get me wrong I love libraries and dart to the books in any setting but mostly I find that I don't feel as though I want to read too much in a browsing mindset. You know? I'm a nestle in and get comfy kind of girl with a book that is decidedly mine to read.

How else do I choose my books you ask? I move towards the book that stands out the most, for example, certain words or names that attract a recollection in my brain or colours/pictures. I will have a little read, or scan, of the blurb in order to decipher if I want to borrow (library's case) or purchase.

Back to this book: From what I can remember, I liked it. It's the first book I've read of Andrew Kaufman's and I think his writing is brilliant. I am awe inspired by his brain and imagination.

The Hunger Games Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Again, a book I've read for the second time. Great, great book(s).

Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli -
I'm going to be totally honest here because what's the point in fabricating, I didn't love this book. There were elements I liked, for example, the unique qualities of this character but the book wasn't for me. And that's ok.
I truly admire anyone who can work hard and write a book; coming up with there story and putting pen to paper, or more with the times: fingers to keys.

The book was, I felt, for a young adult audience- younger than me; early teens age.

Christmas with Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher
Giovanna Fletcher- one of my favourite authors, Billy and Me- one of my favourite books. This is a novella and a follow on from Billy and Me. I highly recommend this book and once you've fallen in love with the characters, come back and find them again at Christmas time.

Unfiltered by Lily Collins
I actually saw that a Vlogger I like was reading this and having seen Lily Collins in Love, Rosie I was very intrigued in getting to know more about this very beautiful lady.
I found it inspiring and actually now recalling this I feel like delving into it again.

All My Friends Are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufman
I enjoyed this book and learning all of the clever superpowers Andrew Kaufman has concocted. Wouldn't it be amazing to have a superpower? Although, sometimes that may be a hindrance.
Recommended.

The Husbands Secret by Liane Moriarty
I found this book in a charity shop and the cover struck me when I recognised the title. My sister recommended it to me a little while previously.
I liked it, judging by the last featured blog post, I loved it.

What happens (without spoilers):
John-Paul is terrified of the family home attic- he won't venture up there without crushing anxiety. His wife, Cecelia, happens to find herself reading the front of an envelope stating: 'To be opened in the event of my death' and phones John-Paul; who's away on a business trip.
A couple days later, Cecelia is taken aback to discover John-Paul in the attic. Curiosity and instinct take hold and she reads the letter. Cecelia and John-Paul are the only people in the world to hold this gigantic secret.

The story is focused upon separate groups of people, individual stories that intertwine one way or another.

The Forever House by Veronica Henry
I've spoken about this book before and at the time it was a lovely break from a very heavy story. This past year I've noticed myself craving books of a certain nature, for example, a light-hearted story, a non-fiction or a bit of magic.

I have 10 more books to discuss and will do this in another blog post, to be uploaded next week. I was very surprised to find all of the books I've read within this year- too many for just one blog post!

Thank you for reading and happy December 30th!

Love Buddy Summer xx
