Titanic Boggle /Art
(My acrylic depiction inspired by the speed of the Titanic) |
Curious and mind-blowingly, in 1898 (14 years before the sinking of the Titanic) a book was written about a luxurious ship that set sail on the Atlantic ocean. The ship was bigger than any other, 800 feet long, could make 24-25 knots, was able to carry 3000 people- and had enough lifeboats for only a portion of the total passengers, was quoted 'unsinkable' and hit an iceberg 'on a cold April night'. The author Morgan Robertson named his ship Titan.
The Titanic: set sail across the Atlantic ocean, was bigger and most extraordinary than any other, 882.5 feet, could make 24-25 knots, could carry about 3000 people and, the most famous three facts; didn't have enough lifeboats for the passengers, named 'unsinkable' and (You know what's next) hit an iceberg 'on a cold April night'.
This little snippet of information, I learned from the book A Night To Remember by Walter Lord, is absolutely mind-blowingly........ I have no word to finish off that sentence. What?! How can this be?
Life and its happenings can be astonishing! I currently can't think of what else to say on this subject, I simply keep repeating this historical fact to anyone that will listen.
If you know any facts about the Titanic I would love to hear them, you can comment down below or tweet me at @buddysummerart
By the way, the above painting is my depiction inspired by the speed of the Titanic.
Thanks for reading!
